Welcome! First off, I would like to invite you to feel free to leave questions or comments. Whatever you'd like to mention. I would love to interact with you, find out how you feel, what you think about this blog. If you have something you'd like to discuss, let me know.
Someday-at an indefinite future time. This can really get inside your head and mess with you. Saying someday is just a form of procrastination. Someday when I"m _______(older, richer, stable, skinnier, smarter, etc.) I'll do_____(fill in the blank). Turn someday into TODAY! I WILL MAKE a conscious effort to do _____. Ask how I can make a difference in somebody's life TODAY! Everybody has something to offer to someone else exactly at this time in their life. Will you ever reach your "someday"? For a long time, I felt that I had to have the right clothes, right body shape, the right "belief system", the "right" whatever to be taken seriously, to be accepted, to be....Me. I had no idea who Mikel really was. I had hidden behind masks for so long that I lost track of who I really am, if I ever knew who I was in the first place. IF you wait until you are "perfect", you will NEVER get started. Today is your day to creating who you want to be, what you want to do. Have a little faith in yourself, in your abilities. It's not going to happen all at once, but if you keep putting your foot forward, pretty soon you'll be on the most incredible journey of your life! I've said it before and I'll say it again: to paraphrase Scott Smith, Chief Motivation Officer of motivationtomove.com Stand up. Take a step. Repeat until you get the desired results you want. Man, the Joy is in the Journey!

DO YOUR BEST! Do the best you can to the best of your ability at this time in your life! Another saying in 12-step programs is "don't quit just before the miracle happens". Discover your gifts. All of us have a gift that is uniquely ours. There are things a person will not be good at, that's just a fact of life. Know when to quit. Doesn't mean you're a failure, it's just that particular thing isn't for them. You never FAIL until you STOP TRYING.
Legendary coach and basketball commentator Jim Valvano said it best:
"To me, there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think-spend some time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you Laugh, Think and Cry, that's a heck of a day. AND Don't give up, don't ever give up."
ONWARD AND UPWARD! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
