TUESDAY TRANSFORMATION

Transformation. an act, process, or instance of transforming or being transformed. a complete or major change in someone's or something's appearance, form, etc. to change in character or condition: CONVERT Transformation is a powerful, life-changing event for a person. What are you doing, what have you done to have a transformation in your life? Have you experienced a transformation at a physical level? at a mental level? at a spiritual level? How can I transform?

  1. You have to focus on yourself first. Goes against what most people believe. I've heard that it should be God First, Others Second, Self Last. In reality, these are two different parts of the same coin. I'll attempt to explain what I mean. By focusing on yourself first, you are getting "your side of the street" cleaned up. You are the one responsible for your life, your happiness, your decisions, etc. Without a solid foundation, a solid base, with a balance between physical, mental, and spiritual levels, you will be unable to sustain any sort of impact on another person. Self-care is the most important gift to ourselves because when we are healthy, we are able to help another. Putting yourself first isn't selfish. It's the first, only, and overlooked step toward putting anybody else before your own needs. As human animals, we often don't do things unless we can get something out of them. When your needs are already taken care of, you can give genuinely, and without expectation.

  2. You have to work at continuously improving yourself. How do you do this? I read. I read to learn about a topic I'm interested in. I study an idea or concept that I feel I need to develop more. I listen to podcasts. The one's I listen to the most is The Daily Boost, Decide your legacy, Brendon Burchard, Ziglar. Find the one's that speak to you, that challenge you, that encourage you. Don't get "stagnant" in your life.

  3. Embrace your challenges. You know, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Nothing you want in life is gonna be easy to get. If whatever you wanted was just handed to you in a nice, gift-wrapped box, tied up with a bow, is it going to be meaningful to you? I think back to my first food-service job right out of culinary school. I was given the title of Sous Chef-the second in command of a kitchen, and within a year was made Executive Chef. I should have never, NEVER done this. I should have started as a line cook and worked my way up. Developed myself. Improved myself. After that, I didn't want to take a step backwords, earn less money, not be in charge of a kitchen. I didn't earn it, as my contemporaries did.

  4. Be generous with your wisdom. You create this by helping others grow into their own best selves. If you've overcome an obstacle, pay it forward. Share how you dealt with it and learned from it. In 12 step groups, you learn that you can only keep your sobriety by giving it away, by helping another addict. You'll only be able to keep what you've received by giving the gift to another. You have so much wisdom to offer the people in your life – and the greatest gift you can give them is to share what you’ve learned and to help them achieve more success in their own lives.

  5. Go after your dreams-and inspire others to go after their own dreams! As Zig Ziglar says "you can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want". When you go after your dreams and start living life at your highest potential, you inspire others to do the same. And this will have a tremendous impact on the world around you. Can you imagine the ripple effect? The most important story in the world is the STORY we tell ourselves.

Until next time....Wisdom. Do you have it? Are you cultivating it? See you tomorrow!
